Good Khyber Short Sword - 7392

The Khaybar sword (Also Known as Salawar Yatagan) was originally the common side arm of the Afrids people residing in the area of the Khaybar pass between Pakistan and Afghanistan, but it use was extended into Pakistan as well as India and Central Asia. It is easily recognized by its straight blade, pronounce T spine cross section and tapering tip. This one has a massive but short 14 inches blade, forged from Indian wootz (Crystalline) steel, noticed in few areas of the blade only, and decorated with gold and silver flowers in koftgari inlay. The grips are made of sectors of ribbed horn and ivory with brass bolsters and grip strap. This sword comes with its original fabric covered scabbard with engraved brass locket. Total length 19 inches. Good condition. A good interesting variant of this very famous sword. |
