A Good Late 19C Yemen Jambiya Dagger - 7369

A real, authentic late 19 to early 20th C. Jambiya dagger from Yemen, with its original belt and accessories. The massive blade is 9 inches long, almost 2 1/2 inches wide, curved and double edge. The grip is horn of unknown kind, set with white metal imitation coins dated 1322 0r 1332 (1896-1906 in the Gregorian calendar) used as rosettes for the rivets and nails decorative design. The scabbard is wood, covered with colored velvet fabric and mounted with very big pierced silver chape in a delicate filigree work. Total length (in scabbard) almost 14 inches. This dagger comes with its original brocade belt, 39 inches long, 3 inches wide, braided with golden threads and mounted with gilded silver buttons and talisman pocket . The back of the belt is white fabric. Next to perfect condition. One of the belts buttons is missing.
