The Barongs heavy leaf shaped blades are known to have superior cutting abilities. This one is a good old Moro Barong, with a 17 ½ inches blade forged from fine pattern welded (Damascus) steel. The hilt is carved from horn, bound to the blade tang with a brass collar. A small piece of ivory is inlaid in the pommel. The scabbard is dark wood lightly carved on the top and bottom ends. Total length (In scabbard) 24 inches. Very good condition. Good blade with very minor edge nicks. One side of the scabbard top is chipped. A very impressive piece.
