Up for sale is this very nice and complete Yataghan sword. A classical down curving blade, 27 inches long. Forged from patern welded ( Damascus) steel and marked with a maker sign. The spine of the blade near the bolster is inscribed in Arabic lettering and dated on the spine to 1224 (1809 in the Gregorian Calendar). The hilt is black horn and the grip strap and bolster are silver. The scabbard is wood, covered with black leather and mounted with engraved white metal locket and chape . Total length 35 inches. Good condition.
