This is a real 17 Century Guild Axe, probably of Saxon origin. Typical blade with maker sign. The haft is 27 inches long, wood, entirely covered with nine stag horn sectors engraved with floral design and scenes from the guild activity. Some close ap shown here. Very good condition only very minor and superficial pitted spots and minor chips to the stag. Few darkened areas in the stag edges. Unusual item.
