Sickle Shaped Knife - 5322

A very interesting tool from Central Africa (?). I do not know if it is a weapon or an agricultural implement, but it certainly could be used for both. It is a sickle shaped knife 11 ¼” long and 3” wide, forged from one piece of steel and sharpened on the inner concave edge. The forging lines are still clearly visible on the blade and the handle. Although it never had a grip, it is surprisingly comfortable in holding it. The original black patina remains and suggests that it is 70-100 years old tool. It is a very interesting addition to any collection of African metal implements / tools / weapons.
