Old Greek Kindjal / Short Sword - 7192

The Greeks used a very specific (and quite rare) form of Kindjal sword. It is characterized by the short cross-guard just below the grip. (None of the other Kkindjals, Caucasian, Persian or Turkish has a similar cross guard). Also the blade shape and cross section is a different from the classical Kindjal. We offer for sale such one rare piece, with 15 inches heavy blade, single edged with 4 ½ inches back edge. The blade is engraved on both sides. The grips is solid horn set with three brass rivets. The scabbard is covered with the original black leather with the spiral stitching and with a pewter tip. . Very good condition. Few darkened spots on the blade but no real pitting. The scabbard tip is slightly worn. A rare authentic piece. All parts original without restoration and/or replacements.
