A real, authentic mid 20 C. Jambiya dagger from Yemen, with its original belt. The massive blade is 8 inches long, almost 3 inches wide, curved and double edge. The grip is Rhino horn with clear fibrous structure, set with silver rosettes and nails decorative design. The scabbard is wood, covered with colored velvet fabric and mounted with very big pierced silver chape in a delicate filigree work. Total length (in scabbard) 15 ½ inches. This dagger comes with its original brocade belt, 40 inches long, 3 ¾ inches wide, braided with golden threads and mounted with silver buttons, talisman pocket and steel buckle. All silver parts are proof marked. Very Fine condition. A very good piece.
