We offer for sale this very fine and early Kilij Sword. The blade, 30 ½ inches long with a 8 ½ raised back edge is forged from very fine wootz (Damascus) steel and dated on the spine to 1132 ( 1719 in the Gregorian calendar). The handle grips are Rhino horn with brass grip strap and brass cross guard. Wood scabbard with its original tooled leather cover and chased brass fittings. The handle and scabbard are later to the blade, probably early 19 C, with clear European influence. Very good condition. A very fine sword of quality.
