The Parang Latok is a rare Sword / Machete from Kalimantan (Borneo). It is characterized by the heavy wedge blade widening toward the tip, with its lower unsharpened part and the hilt abruptly bent upward, allowing two hands grip of the sword. This one has a 18 ½ inches blade, 11 mm thick near the hilt, a square heavy blade extension and a beautifully carved wood hilt with a chased silver collar. Very good condition. Old patina on the blade with some blackened spots and few old re-sharpening scratches. This sword comes with its original parts of the wood scabbard, unfortunately cracked and broken (not shown).
