Up for sale is this wooden club from the Solomon Islands - A lethal weapon in the experienced hand. 9X5 inches leaf shaped oval head with a central rib. 43 ½ inches long haft with thickened conical tip. All carved from a beautiful red/brown hardwood. A very similar club is sketched in the book Weapons and Implements Of Savages Races by L.A.D. Montague fig. 62 p. 111, originally printed in 1921. Very good condition. Minor chip at the head top. Few beetle holes.
