Billao Dagger - 7089 
   
This Billao dagger is a very fine example for this type of  daggers coming from the coastal people of Somalia. It has a classical non-symmetrical leaf shape blade, 9 ½  inches long. The handle is made of two sections of  ivory separated by sectors of black horn and  brass layers and the lower sector is marked:  R.M. Irwain E.???.B . The pommel prong is  made of silver in a typical form. This item comes with its original hide scabbard and leather belt. Total length (in scabbard) 16 inches. Very good condition. Minor edge damages. Pommel cap is slightly loose. The scabbard seams are partially open at the tip and  the belt buckle is missing     |
