A very fine Shamshir from the early 19 C. Or earlier. Heavy 34 inches blade of classical shape with wedge cross section, forged from very fine Persian wootz steel in the pattern known as Kirk Narduban or ladder pattern. Ivory grip Silver pommel. Total length 39 inches. Very good condition. Minor blackened spots on the blade. The pommel cap is a later addition and of the Arabian style. No scabbard. A very fine piece.
