A very fine Shamshir from the 19 C. with an earlier blade. Light blade of classical shape, 28 inches long, wedge cross section forge from Sham wootz steel. Walrus Ivory grip and a steel cross guard. Finely tooled Leather covered scabbard with steel carrying rings. Total length (in scabbard) 36 inches. Good condition. Very slightly re-shaped blade tip. Minor blackened spots on the blade. Minor damage to the scabbard mouth. A very fine piece.
