19 C. Ottoman Dagger set with Corals - 6982


A very typical small curved dagger from the 19 C. The curved blade is 5 ½ inches long and decorated with gold koftgari. The hilt and scabbard are white metal, front side is gilded and set with corals and tiny turquoise stones. There are more than 29 corals and 33 turquoise stones set in this piece . This type of decoration was common in the 18 C. in the eastern parts of the Ottoman Empire. Very good condition. Some of the Koftgari decoration is worn.
