This type of knives was used extensively in Spain during the 18 and 19 Centuries to cut food as well as to settle personal accounts, and found as a man best companion still today. This one is a 19 Century piece of very big and unusual dimensions: “Only” 35 inches fully opened. The blade is 16 ˝ inches long, heavy and engraved with a simple floral design The grips are horn set with brass. The bolster is marked 1309 EG .
