A beautiful Jambiya Dagger from Kurdistan. The blade is 9 inch long (point to point) curved and double edge with a central rib; forged from wootz (Damascus watered steel). The hilt is “I” shaped cut from light color horn and set with filigree silver domes on the rivets and the pommel. The scabbard is made of heavy silver in a typical Kurd style. Total length in scabbard is 15”. Very good condition. Good blade with very minor pitting but needs to be re-etched to bring out the pattern of the watered steel to its beauty. This is an authentic and old late 19th Century piece in excellent shape and condition and a treasured addition to any collection of oriental weapon.
