Knobkerrie War Club with Huge Head - 5765

The Knobkerrie is used for hunting, for self protection and as a war club. It is cut and shaped from the stem of various very strong woods, with the branch used as a handle. It comes in various lengths from 15 and up to 35 inches. This specific one Has an unusually big knob – the biggest I have seen. The shaft is 24 inches long made from hardwood, and the massive head is 41/2X5 inches head of irregular shape. There is a later fabric attached to the top of the handle and bound with what may be an insulation tape (The old fabric based type - not the new plastic). This probably comes to cover a crack in the shaft. Good plus condition with minor chips to the wood. A very unusual item and a very interesting addition to your collection of African tools / weapon. It is offered here at a very attractive price.
