Tiger Teeth Jambiya Dagger - India - 6915

This early 19 Century Jambiya dagger comes from North India. It is known as Tiger Teeth and characterized by the three lobes pommel and the extended steel bolster. The blade is 8 inches long, forged from fine wootz (Damascus) steel, with thickened armor piercing tip and two wide flat fullers. The fullers area only was etched to bring out the watering patter whereas the edges are left polished. This was commonly done to enhance the pattern. The grips are ivory. The scabbard is newly made, wood, covered with green velvet and set with pierced silver tip. Very good condition. Minor pitted spots on the blade. Rare version of an Indian Jambiya dagger
