Rare Bolo Sword from the Philippines - 6894

It is not a common sword. This rare Bolo may be of Visayan origin, with decorative handle is rarly seen and with such a long nose on the pommel it is ever rarer. The sharp, beveled blade is 21 inches long. The handle is silver on wood, representing a monster head with long fangs and extremely long nose, more than 4 inches. The head is decorated with American silver coins from the forties (few missing). Wood scabbard with a leather cover at the top. Total length 32 inches. Very good condition. Minor edge nicks on the blade and wood chops on the scabbard. Few coins are missing.
