This is an Arabic Saber / Saif of very good plus quality. The blade is a 34 inches long. The hilt is composed of silver grips, silver cross-guard, grip strap and pommel, all in a typical Arab style and decoration. The cross guard is secured to the grip and bound with silver wire and the pommel and cross guard are connected with a silver chain. The scabbard is entirely covered with engraved silver. This sword comes with its original black baldric thread and tassels. Total length 39 inches. Very good condition allover. Blade with few minor and superficial pitted areas and minor nicks on the silver pieces. All parts are original , no replacements or later repairs. The blade slides smoothly and fits perfectly into the scabbard. Old, probably early 19 C. piece, a prize to the serious collector.
