Up for sale is this very Unusual Yatagan sword, probably of East European origin. NOT as usual it is equipped with a straight heavy fullered blade 26 inches long. The top of the blade is engraved in an East European style. The grips are massive pieces of brass, beautifully chiseled in high relief in a floral design, mounted on the steel tang with black horn liners. Wood scabbard covered with chased brass folded on the scabbard back to secure it in position. Total length 31 inches/ Very good condition. Few darkened spots with very light pitting on the blade. The scabbard cover is later to the blade. Very attractive item.
