Up for sale is this big Qama Sword of Persian origin. The massive blade is 17 inches long and more than 2 inches wide, decorated with gold Koftgari work and dated to 1221 ( 1806 in the Gregorian calendar). The handle is made of Ivory grips and the tang strap is also decorated with silver and gold koftgari work. Original wood scabbard with the original dark violet velvet cover. Very good condition. It is our opinion that the dating to 1221 is a later addition and the sword is really from the end of the 19 C. and not early 19 C. A very impressive item.
