Very Good Moro Kris Sword with Laminated Blade - 6391

This is a very good and old Moro Kris, probably early 19 century. The straight blade is 22 inches long, beautifully constructed from a laminated core, welded between high carbon steel edges and well treated and heat hardened. Deadly sharp. The grip is bound with thick rattan strips and the kakatua shaped pommel is ivory. A steel clamp secures the blade to the handle. Wood scabbard with three silver bands. Total length (in scabbard) 27 ½ inches. Very good condition. Light scratches and minor battle scars on the blade edges. Later repairs to the scabbard and to the rattan binding of the pommel. Excellent sword and one of quality.
